Maybe I am beginning to grow up but I doubt it. I was surprised about liking the A-O as no where could I find a Rampant Pony rollmarked and yall know how I feel about the pony. I would pick up a few traditional magazines but no fear they are not expensive or hard to come by. Sounds like you got a deal on a good pistol. A drop of red loctite and she has been tight as a drum. If you would like I will post a few pictures of where I staked it if that will help you. If left uncorrected it would loosen more. Louisville the front sight did loosen up just a little, but did not affect accuracy. I hope yall don't think that is cheating. When I test at 75 feet I usually shoot a few magazines to get a feel of how the pistol shoots at 75 feet before I fire for effect. The pistol may shoot better but that is as good as I could do with those sights (which I was satisfied enough to accept the results). I have had pretty good luck with the Hornady TAP rounds but 75 feet with those sights was tough. With a traditional magazine the A-O was flawless in operation. It ran ball perfect and JHP most of the time. I really am not sure why the follower is the way it is. Without their input I am sure my articles would be lacking. I want to thank Hawkmoon and OD for their help on this article. I'd like to hear others opinions on the matter though. It appears that they're adjustable against that (so even if it does happen it can be easily rectified, i think?). IMO, i don't think they will begin to drift. Now, i've never had a 1911's sights "drift", but that's not saying much. Hunter states that their is a "drift adjustable rear notch". Their mags are priced around $30 as well, and are probably used by a minimum of 15% of forum members. Then there's the old standby, Wilson Combat.

Tripps are a bit more pricey, at around $30, but well worth it, IMO. As are Tripp's mags (my personal favorite!).maker of the Cobramag. They're putting a lot of energy into R&D and coming up with some great products. Checkmate's are the "hot" item right now, and for good reason. It was worth the wait!Īs my friend Rio Vista Slim said, good mags can be found easily and be bought quite inexpensively. Also, is it normal for sights to drift after only a couple hundred rounds? I don't have any gunsmithing skills and would hate to have an inaccurate piece just after a minimal breaking in. Im afraid to see how much a good mag will cost Beings as Im getting this for defensive purposes, I need to be able to shoot HydraShocks without fear. Im disappointed with the results regarding the factory magazine. I have a new one on lay-away for $450, and will be picking it up next weekend.
